This, however, does not magically translate into hundred kiloton x-ray laser or plasma jets o' doom, because bomb pumped weapons tend to be rather inefficient. And if you use shorter ranges to begin with (EG the 3000 km range in Fall of Reach, or shorter ranges like the mini MAC on the Mammoth which is comparable in size and caliber to the Naval autocannon) you can get shorter ranges still.Ī few archers equals a megaton or so of firepower, pointing again to triple digit kiloton warheads.
Like if you use the Halo encyclopedia MAC ranges as CIWS range, you might get roughly what you tried extraploating already (this would be closer to assuming its an accurate represnetation.) but it 16000 was LWRS range, then CIWS would be much shorter.
You might try applying it in a 'relative' sense (LRWS is 2x the range of CIWS) but there are two problems with that as well:ġ.) You don't know what qualifies as CIWS and LRWSĢ.) The actual ranges will be relative to the benchmarks you use. Alot of other calcs (like ROTJ and the 2nd Death Star) tried this approach but it isn't neccesarily accurate without numbers attached. That assumes the display is meant to be an accurate representation of the environment and that you can scale linearly from it.
